Courses

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”. Albert Einstein

level 1 - 2 1/2 - 4 Year Old Class (£45 for 6 week course) Bike & Helmet Hire included

This is aimed at children between 2½ years and 4 years old. At this level, fundamental movement patterns, gross motor skills and dynamic balance are incorporated along with an introduction to the balance bike. Children learn how to pick up, manoeuvre, mount and dismount their bikes and then learn the skills to ride a balance bike safely. The aim of Level 1 is to create the confidence to glide a balance bike with their feet off the ground and be able to stop in a controlled manner.

level 2 - 4-6 Year Old Class (£45 for 6 weel course) Bike & Helmet Hire included

This continues the development of gross motor skills, dynamic balance and co-ordination. The main goal is to improve the child's gliding, stopping, braking and turning skills to enable them to ride solo on a pedal bike safely and confidently. The art of riding a bicycle is dependant upon a good understanding and experience of balance and control and bringing all the new skills together.

Schools

Bike Doctor Balanceability provides a Foundation Stage 'Learn to Cycle' programme for the Reception and Year 1 children (starting with preschool children from 30 months).

BIke Doctor Balanceability works directly with schools to promote the physical benefits of cycling for young children as well as providing a success orientated experience. The programme offers children the ability to become competent cyclists at an early age through the development of balance and control.
